A community screening of the 1960s Bollywood classic Mughal-E-Azam

Apne Film Club, Waltham Forest Women’s Network and Rungh Mehraj is working together to host a screening with colour, costume and connection. From artist-designed photo booths to performances.

Doors open at 2:00pm to live music, Chai and Samosas with the film starting at 2:45

Synopsis:

Salim, an emperor's son, falls in love with a beautiful courtesan. Even though he is determined to be with her, his father decides to break them apart."

Apne Film Club is bringing back the old Asian film clubs of the '60s and '70s by screening Classic South Asian films complete with samosas, chai and a sense of community.

Talking, laughing, cheering, jeering and tearing is encouraged throughout the film.

ALL WELCOME, ALL AGES (yes babies too!), ALL BACKGROUNDS. A BSL interpreter will be there on the day too!
